Screening of the independent film 'The Incomer' at Digital Gym Cinema, a venue for independent and foreign cinema in downtown San Diego.
The Incomer is playing Digital Gym Cinema in downtown San Diego this week, part of a run that started on October 2 and keeps going through October 8. It's a Variance production, and the cinema is showing it across five days: October 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8, with showtimes at 2:30 PM, 11:30 AM, 4:30 PM, 1:45 PM, and 4:30 PM respectively. If you're looking for a matinee, you've got plenty of options to pick from.
The film stars Domhnall Gleeson, Emun Elliott, Gayle Rankin, Grant O'Rourke, and Michelle Gomez. It's set on a remote Scottish isle where siblings Isla and Sandy spend their days hunting seabirds and retelling their ancestors' stories, living by the strict rules they inherited from their late father: protect the island, allow no incomer, survive. That world gets turned on its head when Daniel, an awkward and socially inept council official, arrives to evacuate them, bringing the strange mainland ways of laws, paperwork, veganism, and internet wizardry with him.
