Stand-up show by Sophie Buddle, Juno Award-winning comedian and podcaster, head writer of 'After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson'.
Sophie Buddle is headlining Mic Drop Comedy on Saturday, October 17, at 7 PM. If you're not familiar with her, she's a stand-up comedian, TV writer, and podcaster who's spent a good chunk of her career working behind the scenes on some of the biggest comedy shows on television. She just wrapped as the head monologue writer for After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson, and she's appeared on The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show with James Corden. She's also worked as a correspondent and staff writer for CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
That writing background carries over into her stand-up. She's been featured on CTV's Roast Battle, JFL All Access, and Kevin Hart's LOL Network, and has played the Winnipeg and Halifax comedy festivals. In 2019, she released her first album, Lil Bit Of Buddle, which went on to win the 2020 Juno Award for Best Comedy Album of the Year — and she was the first female comic to take home that prize. Since then, she delivered the 2022 Canadian Keynote Address on Comedy and has been a three-time runner-up for SiriusXM Top Comic.
When she isn't on stage or in a writers' room, she hosts the podcast Obsessed with Sophie Buddle, which you can find on Apple Podcasts. The show is a good way to get a sense of her voice before you see her live.
