Continuing medical education conference on advances in type 1 and type 2 diabetes management, featuring expert-led sessions and a hands-on Continuous Glucose Monitoring experience.
The Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute is hosting its 2026 Updates in Diabetes Management CME Conference at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina on Saturday, October 10. It's a full day of continuing medical education, running from 6:45 AM to 4:45 PM, so you'll want to be ready for an early start.
The sessions focus on the latest in diagnosing and treating type 1 and type 2 diabetes, with a good chunk of the day dedicated to emerging research and evolving standards of care. The program covers recent developments in pharmacologic therapies, precision nutrition, metabolic interventions, and advanced diabetes technologies. It's led by nationally recognized experts who are active in both clinical care and research, so the talks come from people who are actually seeing these things play out in the clinic.
One of the more hands-on parts of the day is the Continuous Glucose Monitoring experience. You can apply a sensor and track your own glucose levels in real time while experts guide you through interpreting the data, which is a bit more practical than just listening to a lecture. The conference is led by Athena Philis-Tsimikas, MD, and Samantha Harris, MD.
