Two-day outdoor holiday market with over 130 local vendors, live music, food and drinks at Liberty Station.
San Diego Made is bringing its holiday market back to NTC Park at Liberty Station on Saturday, November 28, and Sunday, November 29. It's a two-day outdoor event with more than 130 local vendors, live music, and food and drinks on site. The market opens on Small Business Saturday, the holiday American Express started in 2010 and the U.S. Small Business Administration has cosponsored since 2011.
San Diego Made started in 2014 when four local creators — graphic designer Brittany Kaszas, clothing designer Kristin Dinnis, and woodworkers Brook Dailey and Sarah Anderson — teamed up to give independent artisans a collective voice, a way to network, and a public place to sell their work. They originally operated out of a shared studio in Barrio Logan until city officials shut down two unpermitted arts warehouses there in 2017, following the Oakland Ghost Ship fire. The group then took out a CDC Small Business Finance loan to establish the San Diego Made Factory, a permitted maker facility in Logan Heights that turned a pop-up market into permanent infrastructure.
Now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization also runs My Creative Journey, which offers free workshops, public art displays, and paid artist residencies to emerging creatives in the city's federally designated Promise Zone neighborhoods. The $5 adult entry fee for the market goes toward supporting that nonprofit work.
