A 21+ Oktoberfest festival with live music, DJ sets, vendors and parties on the beach in Ocean Beach, with a Y2K throwback theme.
OB Oktoberfest returns to the OB Pier Parking Lot on Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10, 2026. It's a 21+ festival run by the Hoy Hoy Boys, who've kept it going in Ocean Beach for more than 20 years and call it the wildest Oktoberfest in San Diego. This year they're leaning into a Y2K throwback theme, so the evening goes back to the early 2000s with neon lights and period beats.
Friday is Flashback Friday Locals Night, with Fortunate Youth playing the Jägermeister Main Stage from 4 PM to 11:30 PM. Saturday runs much longer, starting around noon and going until 11:30 PM. The afternoon kicks off with the OB+RL Beach Party from noon to 5 PM, featuring the Mr. & Ms. Oktoberfest Bikini Competition. Later, from 8 PM to 10 PM, the Y2K After Dark Neon Party takes over the Buzz Cannabis Electronica Stage. Between the stages, there's a Stein Holding Competition, a Pretzel Toss, and a Brat Eating Contest, plus local vendors and live music on the Jägermeister Main Stage.
There's a philanthropic side to it, too: the organizers say the festival has donated more than $850,000 to local organizations to help keep Ocean Beach thriving. The setting is a beachfront beer garden at the foot of Newport Avenue, with the sunset over the Pacific. The Ocean Beach Pier itself has been closed since October 2023 while the city works on its replacement, so the lot is right where the pier usually starts.
