Immersive Halloween-themed tropical bar experience with eerie décor, photo opportunities and sinister tropical cocktails at the Margaritaville Hotel.
LandShark Bar & Grill transforms into the Lost Temple Tavern on Thursday, October 10, at the Margaritaville Hotel San Diego in the Gaslamp Quarter. It's a recurring event throughout October, so if you miss this particular night, you'll have other chances to catch it before the month is up.
Every October, the bar takes on a haunted tropical theme. The space is filled with tangled vines, ancient relics, cursed castaways, tropical skeletons, and the remnants of an expedition that never made it home. You follow an overgrown trail through the Halloween décor, with eerie photo opportunities along the way. It's an immersive setup that changes the whole feel of the room.
The drinks lean into the theme, too. There are island-inspired bites and signature cocktails like the Lost Soul Punch, the Black Bat, Rigor Mortis, and a Bloody Ghost Skull Shot. If you're not in the mood for something themed, the hotel's usual frozen beverages are still around.

For context, the Margaritaville Hotel San Diego is in the Gaslamp Quarter, which puts you within easy reach of the city's nightlife, speakeasies, comedy clubs, and Petco Park. The hotel also hosts weekly live music at its 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar and LandShark Bar & Grill, and it has San Diego's largest rooftop pool. The Lost Temple Tavern is the seasonal twist on that, with the haunted décor and themed drinks taking over for the month.
Admission is free, though food and drinks are available for purchase. The tavern runs from 6 PM to 10:30 PM on Thursday, October 10, at 435 6th Ave in the Gaslamp Quarter.
