A weekday farmers market offering farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, yogurt, baked goods and specialty foods in the heart of Little Italy.
Little Italy Mercato Wednesday is back on West Date Street this Wednesday, October 21, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. If you've spent any time in the neighborhood, you probably know the Saturday Mercato—the big, bustling one that draws crowds from all over the city. This is its weekday sibling: a smaller version of the same thing, running on a Wednesday morning instead of a Saturday. It's a farmers market on public property right in the heart of Little Italy, and it keeps the same basic spread you'd expect from the larger one.
You'll find farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, yogurt, baked goods, and specialty foods. It's the kind of place where you can pick up your produce for the week without fighting the Saturday crowds, and it's just as easy to grab a few things on your way in or out of the neighborhood. The selection is a bit more focused than the Saturday market, but the core—the fresh produce and the local pantry staples—is all there.

As for where to find it, the market stretches across a good chunk of the area. It runs along West Date Street from Kettner Boulevard to India Street, then continues on the Piazza della Famiglia from India Street to Columbia Street, and finally back onto West Date Street from Columbia Street to State Street, with 550 W Date St as a good landmark for the stretch. The whole layout is designed to leave a 20-foot fire lane clear at all times, so it's easy to navigate even when it's busy. It runs every Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM throughout 2026, so if you miss this one, there's another one next week.
