Weekend farmers' market with farm-fresh produce, pastries, coffee and handcrafted goods from California growers and artisans on West Date Street.
Little Italy Mercato is back in Little Italy on Saturday, November 7, as part of its year-round run. It's San Diego County's largest weekly farmers' market, and it takes over six blocks of West Date Street, turning them into an open-air marketplace every Saturday. The whole thing is free to enter.
The market brings together the region's farmers, foodmakers, and artisans in a European-style setup. Farm-fresh produce, pastured eggs, honey, flowers, meat, and seafood come straight from California growers. Alongside them, you'll find award-winning olive oils, baked goods, sauces, coffees, and specialty foods, plus handcrafted goods, artisan gifts, and local art. It's the kind of place where you can pick up your produce for the week and a few treats at the same time. You can also wander through the Piazza della Famiglia while you're there.
If Saturday doesn't work for you, there's a mid-week edition on Wednesdays. It's smaller than the Saturday market, but many of the same farmers and vendors are there, along with some weekday exclusives. The market's motto is Mangia Bene. Eat well. Be well.
