Family festival billed as 'Coachella for families' with live music, arts and crafts, rides, food trucks and a Laurie Berkner show.
Great Big Family Play Day takes over Ingram Plaza at Liberty Station on Saturday, November 7, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. It's billed as "Coachella for families," and that's a fair way to describe it: a full day of music, crafts, and activities for kids and parents, with the Main Stage running live shows from start to finish.
Laurie Berkner headlines the day, but she only plays one show—11 AM on the Main Stage—so if you're coming specifically for her, you'll want to be there early. The rest of the musical lineup includes The Beat Buds, Kathryn the Grape, Kids Imagine Nation, Trees of Dreams, The Science Guys, and Hollywood Princesses. Between sets, the grounds are filled with arts and crafts, rides, food trucks, foam parties, a Bluey Meet & Greet, a DIY tie-dye station, and a Volvo Interactive Coloring Car.
There's a good amount of stuff for the smaller ones, too: a woom bike course, Tonies Trading, an Artsy Wagon crafting station, and a Babies & Balls play space. The practical side is covered with Family Lounges and diaper-changing stations stocked with Sudocrem, and a Gear Show handing out more than $5,000 in giveaways. Tickets are required for everyone age one and up, and entry is timed.
