A lawn program event held at the historic House of Spain within Balboa Park, San Diego.
House of Spain is hosting its Lawn Program on Saturday, October 10, in Balboa Park. It's an outdoor event, and the lawn is the main feature, so it's the kind of thing that works best if you're in the mood to spend a few hours outside rather than inside a gallery or a theater.
If you're not familiar with the spot, House of Spain is at 1549 El Prado, right in the heart of Balboa Park. It's one of the many cultural houses that make up the park's architecture, and the Lawn Program takes the activity out of the building and onto the grass. It's a day-long affair, and because it's in the park, it's easy to pair it with a walk through the gardens or a visit to some of the other museums nearby.
The program runs from 11 AM to 4 PM, which is a five-hour window. That's plenty of time to come and go as you pleaseβyou can drop in for an hour or hang out for the whole afternoon. Since it's outdoors, it's a good idea to bring a blanket or a chair if you plan on staying for a while, and maybe some water and snacks to keep you going. It's a casual, open-air setup, so you can just settle in and take it as it comes.
