Hillcrest Classic Car Show

The Hillcrest Classic Car Show is back on Saturday, October 17, from 1 PM to 3:30 PM. It's on Fifth Avenue Northbound between Pennsylvania and Evans in Hillcrest (3700 Fifth Avenue), and it's presented by Fabulous Hillcrest, MO's Universe, and Great Autos of Yesteryear.

If you've been around the neighborhood for a while, you know the drill. The show has been a Hillcrest fixture since the summer of 2017, when classic car enthusiasts started gathering on the third Saturday of every month to show off their vehicles and do some tire kicking. It used to be on Normal Street, but it moved to Fifth and Pennsylvania in March 2025 while Normal remains closed, and it's stayed there as a monthly event ever since. Each gathering brings together at least twenty collectors who share their passion with the public and with fellow enthusiasts.

Behind the scenes is Great Autos of Yesteryear, which describes itself as the largest LGBTQ+ car club on the West Coast, with nearly 1,000 members. They're the ones putting this together, and the show is as much about the people as it is about the cars. Since it's right in the heart of the neighborhood, you're encouraged to explore the restaurants and bars of Fabulous Hillcrest while you're there—it's easy to make a whole afternoon of it.

One of the best things about it is how low-pressure it is. There's no registration required, so you can just walk up and hang out. It runs from 1 PM to 3:30 PM on Saturday, October 17, on Fifth Avenue Northbound between Pennsylvania and Evans.
