The 272nd installment of the Dim Sum & Jazz series, featuring the Adam Wolff Quartet with Phineas Leevy.
The Adam Wolff Quartet plays Golden Island Dim Sum & Asian Cuisine on Friday, October 9, as part of the Dim Sum & Jazz series. This is the 272nd installment of the weekly live music dining experience, which is one of the longest-running of its kind in San Diego. The quartet features pianist Adam Wolff and guest Phineas Leevy.
Wolff has been playing since he was eight and spent a decade studying classical piano performance, music theory, and creative music expression. Raised in New York and Chicago, he returned to Manhattan in the 1980s to study with Barry Harris, Mike Longo, and Kenny Werner. He has recorded with Vernel Fournier and Frank Gant, both drummers for Ahmad Jamal. He also taught at the Johnny Colon School of Music in East Harlem and earned a degree with honors from Long Island University in 1990. In 2004, he co-founded Blue44, a music collective built around the theme of 'ambient grooves.'
