A multi-course dinner inspired by the flavours of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, celebrating human creativity through folk art, craft and design.
Mingei International Museum is hosting another Artifact at Night dinner on Thursday, October 15, from 5 PM to 8 PM. This one is a multi-course meal inspired by the flavors of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a region in northeast Italy, and it's being put together by chefs Tim Kolanko, Wesley Remington, and Tony Coito.
If you've never heard of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, it's a bit of a crossroads. It sits where Austrian, Slavic, and Italian cultures overlap, and the menu follows that specific regional cooking. The dinner is part of the Artifact at Night series, which celebrates human creativity through folk art, craft, and design—and this particular installment draws on those layered cultural influences. The chefs are building the meal around that regional tradition, so you'll be eating your way through a part of Italy that doesn't always get the spotlight.

It's a multi-course dinner, so it's meant to be a slow evening rather than a quick bite. You'll be sitting in the museum's restaurant in San Diego, and the whole thing runs from 5 PM to 8 PM. Seats are limited, and reservations are required, so you'll need to RSVP in advance to get a spot. The price is $89 for members and $89 for non-members, and the meal is the main event of the night.
