Historian Sandee Wilhoit presents a century of stories and historic photographs from The Sofia Hotel archives.
The Sofia Hotel is opening up its archives for a night of San Diego history on Thursday, October 15. Historian Sandee Wilhoit will lead the evening, pulling from nearly a century of stories and historic photographs that the hotel has kept on file. The Sofia has stood at the center of downtown San Diego's heritage since it first opened in 1926, and this session is built around an exclusive look at the moments that shaped both the building and the city around it.
The hotel is presenting the evening itself, and the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation is supporting the session. If you attend, you'll walk away with a San Diego Heritage Pass, which gives you 10% off any tour or event at the Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House through 2027. The night also comes with a complimentary welcome drink and continuous chapters from the Sofia Archives Instagram series.
