Eclectic dance party with DJ Gabe Vega and guests mixing hits from the 80s, 90s and 2000s at Whistle Stop Bar.
DJ Gabe Vega is back at Whistle Stop Bar on Saturday, October 17, for another edition of 80s vs 90s vs Y2K!. He's leading the night with a guest lineup, and the whole thing is built around a mix of dance jams from the 80s, 90s and 2000s. If you've been before, you know the drill: it's a dance party that pulls from three decades of pop and dance music, so you'll hear things from the 80s, the 90s and the early 2000s all in one set.
This isn't a one-off. The night is a regular fixture at Whistle Stop, which runs every first and third Saturday, so if you miss this one, there's usually another one coming up soon. It's billed as San Diego's best mix of eclectic dance jams from those three eras, and it's exactly thatβa dance floor that doesn't stick to just one decade. You'll get the 80s, the 90s and the 2000s running side by side, and DJ Gabe Vega is the one steering the whole thing.

Whistle Stop Bar is at 2236 Fern Street, a 200-capacity room in San Diego. It's a relatively small space, which keeps the energy tight when the dance floor fills up. The party kicks off at 9 PM, and with the 80s, 90s and 2000s all in play, it's the kind of night that works whether you're there for the synth-heavy stuff from the 80s, the dance-pop of the 90s or the early 2000s hits. Entry is $15.
