A once-a-year community event with over 30 local restaurants, breweries and wine bars along Newport and Voltaire streets, with proceeds supporting the Ocean Beach Community Foundation.
The Ocean Beach Restaurant Walk returns to Ocean Beach on Tuesday, October 20, from 5 to 9 PM. It's a once-a-year community event that brings together more than 30 local restaurants, breweries, and wine bars along Newport Avenue and Voltaire Street, pairing neighborhood favorites with new spots opening around the area. You spend the evening tasting your way through the neighborhood, moving from one place to the next.
All proceeds go to the Ocean Beach Community Foundation, a 100% volunteer-operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The money supports their charitable giving programs and annual community holiday events, including the OB Holiday Parade and the OB Food and Toy Drive. It's the kind of night where the tasting itself funds the things the neighborhood looks forward to all winter.

Logistically, you'll need a tasting card to get started. You can pick one up at Northside Tavern (2228 Bacon St) or at The Plaza at Wonderland/OB Surf Lodge/Blue Water (5083 Santa Monica Avenue). Check-in runs from 5 to 8:30 PM, so you've got a window to get your card and start your route. A free trolley service runs between the two pick-up points, which is handy if you're not within walking distance of either. Tickets are $45 each.
