A charity 5K run to raise awareness and funds for brain cancer research, featuring a Kids Fun Run and survivor photo.
Head for the Cure returns to Tecolote Shores South on Saturday, October 10, for its 3rd annual 5K in San Diego. The race is a fundraiser for brain tumor research, and the money raised locally goes to the Department of Neurological Surgery at UC San Diego, the organization's Path to Hope program, and other national brain cancer programs, education, and initiatives.
The day is built around more than just the 5K. There's a 100-meter Kids Fun Run for the little ones, a Courage Award Ceremony, and a Brain Tumor Survivor Photo. The event also recognizes the people around the patients: caregivers are honored with the Legacy of Love award, healthcare professionals are named Healthcare Heroes, survivors are recognized under Keeping the Faith, and those who have died are remembered.
