A family-friendly 5K run/walk with a costume parade, beer garden, and dog adoption event for the rescue organisation Labs and More.
Road Runner Sports hosts the 13th Annual Howl-O-Ween Mutt Run/Walk on Saturday, October 24, in San Diego. It's a family-friendly 5K run and walk that brings together people and their dogs for a morning of costumes and rescue work. The race-day check-in opens at 7:30 AM, with the 5K starting at 8:30 AM.
The event is a fundraiser for Labs and More, a volunteer-led rescue that's been taking in dogs since 2011. They've helped more than 17,000 dogs over the years and rescue around 900 each year, with veterinary and medical care as their biggest expense. The money raised from the run goes toward providing that kind of lifesaving care for dogs in need.
It's built for people and dogs alike, and both are encouraged to show up in costume for a costume parade and contest. There's also a sponsored beer garden on site. For those looking to add a dog to their home, the adoption event runs from 9:30 to 11:30 AM and offers same-day adoptions.
