San Antonio Dance presents The Nutcracker Ballet

San Antonio Dance brings The Nutcracker Ballet to the Jo Long Theatre at The Carver on Saturday, November 28, 2026. It's their annual production of the holiday classic, the one that usually marks the start of the season for families around the city. If you've seen it before, you know the story—the Christmas Eve party, the toy soldier that comes to life, the battle with the Mouse King, and the trip to the Land of Sweets. It's a familiar piece of choreography that works as well for a first-timer as it does for someone who's watched it every year.

Because it's a family-friendly show, the timing is something to keep in mind. This performance is at 11 AM, which puts it right in the middle of a Saturday morning. It's a good slot if you're bringing kids along—you're in and out before the afternoon gets too busy, and you've still got the rest of the day ahead of you. If you're planning to make a morning of it, you might want to leave a little extra time to get settled before the curtain goes up.

The production is staged at the Jo Long Theatre, part of The Carver, which is a well-known spot for performing arts in San Antonio. The Nutcracker is a large-scale ballet, so it's the kind of show that fills the stage with dancers and sets, and the Carver's theater is built for exactly that. It's a professional production from San Antonio Dance, a local company that handles this as part of their regular season.

So, if you're looking for a holiday tradition to get the season moving, this is it. San Antonio Dance presents The Nutcracker Ballet at the Jo Long Theatre at The Carver on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 11 AM.
