Musician Open Mic Jam Night

Fitzgerald's Bar and Live Music Venue hosts its Musician Open Mic Jam Night every Wednesday, with the music starting at 9 PM. It's a straightforward setup: musicians can sign up to play solo or jam with a band, so you can either take the stage on your own or find some other players to back you up. Sign-ups open at 8 PM, an hour before the first act kicks off, which gives you plenty of time to get your name on the list before the night gets underway.

Fitzgerald's is a local San Antonio room at 437 McCarty Ste. 101, and it's built for this kind of thing. There's a large floor, a spacious stage, and an outdoor patio, and parking is free. The bar is fully stocked and carries non-alcoholic beers, too, so you've got something to drink whether you're playing or just hanging out. If you're not the one performing, it's a good spot to spend a Wednesday night listening to whoever ends up on the bill.

The open mic isn't the only thing the venue does. On Monday nights, they run their own R&R Musicians Pro Jam Sessions, and they book live local and national acts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Between the jam sessions and the booked shows, there's music going on most of the week.
