Isaiah Cosey & The Sound Mind: An Auditory Invitation

Isaiah Cosey & The Sound Mind play the Little Carver Theatre on Saturday, December 19, as part of the venue's Intimate Series. The show starts at 8 PM.

The Sound Mind is a San Antonio collective led by Cosey, who pulls together some of the city's musicians and singers to build a set that doesn't stick to one style. The group draws from jazz, rock, and soul, and the performance is billed as a melting pot of music that takes the audience on a journey into sound. On the night, they pair nu-jazzy interpretations of popular songs with their own original material, so you'll hear familiar tunes reimagined alongside things they've written themselves.

Cosey is a well-known name in the local scene, and his credits run through several San Antonio projects. He's worked with Chavela, JamailMusic, The Palm Trees, Batooter, Any Color You Like, and Daniel Miller & the Red Roses. The Sound Mind brings that same local connection to the stage, with a lineup of singers and players from across the city.

It's a single-bill night at the Little Carver Theatre, 226 N. Hackberry, San Antonio, TX 78202. The show is on Saturday, December 19, starting at 8 PM.
