A musical revue celebrating the Eastwood Country Club and the Chitlin' Circuit, returning to the stage with a special remounting of the original show.
Divas of Eastwood returns to the Little Carver Theatre on Saturday, February 6, 2027, at 7:30 PM. It's a remounting of the original musical revue, which first played to sold-out houses at the Carver ten years ago. If you missed it then, this is your chance to catch it.
The show centers on the history of the Eastwood Country Club and other San Antonio venues that were part of the Chitlin' Circuit, the network of clubs and theaters that served as a lifeline for Black artists across the country. It weaves together music, local history, and the stories of the Eastside legends who helped shape the city's cultural legacy, alongside the iconic female artists whose voices defined the era. Powerhouse vocals and a selection of songs carry the whole thing, serving as a theatrical tribute to the trailblazers and cultural icons whose influence still resonates in San Antonio.
Because it's a revue, the music does most of the heavy lifting. The songs aren't just there for the sound; they're the thread that ties the history of the Eastwood Country Club to the broader story of the Chitlin' Circuit and the women who sang its stages. It's as much about the city's own musical heritage as it is about the artists themselves.
