Youth matinee performance of Rennie Harris Puremovement's high-energy street dance show 'Nuttin' But a Word' at the Carver Community Cultural Center.
Rennie Harris Puremovement brings Nuttin' But a Word to the Carver Community Cultural Center on Friday, March 19, 2027. It's a youth matinee, so it's a morning show rather than an evening one, and it's part of the Carver's Youth Matinee Series.
Puremovement is a Philadelphia-based street dance company, and they're one of the leading hip-hop and street dance troupes in the country. Their whole thing is celebrating the history, artistry and impact of hip-hop through both performance and education. Nuttin' But a Word is a high-energy celebration of street dance styles, and it pulls from a few different traditions: locking, house, hip-hop and breaking (B-boying). You'll see those styles side by side on stage rather than just one of them.
Because it's a youth matinee, the show is aimed at students in grades 5-12, and it runs about an hour. That makes it an easy one to fit into a school day or a morning out. It's being presented in the Jo Long Theatre inside the Carver, at 226 North Hackberry Street in San Antonio.

Admission is free and open to all, but you do need a reservation to get in. The performance runs from 11 AM to 12 PM, with doors opening at 10 AM, so there's plenty of time to get settled before it starts.
