Westminster University's men's soccer team takes on Colorado Christian University at Dumke Field on Sunday, October 25, with kickoff at 12 PM. It's a Senior Day match, so the game does double duty as a celebration of the players finishing their collegiate careers.
If you're not familiar with the setup, Dumke Field is one of those Salt Lake City spots that's a bit more than it looks at first glance. It's an artificial-turf pitch built on top of a two-level parking structure, with seating for 1,200 spectators. It was rebuilt in the fall of 2005, and it serves as the home ground for the Griffins.
The Griffins compete at the NCAA Division II level in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and they field 13 DII teams. The school's intercollegiate athletics tradition goes back to 1928, though they only became an active NCAA Division II member in 2018. If you're interested in other sports, the university's other home venue is Behnken Field House, an 84,500-square-foot center completed in 2006 that also holds 1,200 fans under a suspended running track.
