THAO plays The Urban Lounge with her full band on the Show Me Tour, supporting her album 'Show Me' and donating ticket sales to LGBTQ youth charities.
THAO plays The Urban Lounge on Monday, April 5, 2027, as part of the Show Me tour. She'll be performing with her full band, and the set is built around Show Me, her first album in six years.
THAO is the stage name of Thao Nguyen, an indie artist who has recorded and performed as Thao & The Get Down Stay Down. Her discography includes Temple (2016), and she's appeared on NPR Music's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert and played festivals like Noise Pop and Pickathon. Show Me is the record she's touring now, and she describes it as "a real-time record-keeping of my life evolving into a different relationship with love and desire over the last few years." It's also the first time she's written about sex and queer identity in her songs.
There's a charitable side to the tour, too. She's teaming up with The Ally Coalition—founded in 2013 by Jack Antonoff of Bleachers and fashion designer Rachel Antonoff—to donate a portion of ticket sales to non-profit organizations supporting LGBTQ youth in each city she visits. So a part of your ticket goes to a local organization here in Salt Lake City.
