Third annual awareness dinner and auction of the Lauren McCluskey Foundation, with speakers, an auction and the presentation of the Lauren McCluskey Award for Distinguished Response to Nicole Noren.
The Lauren McCluskey Foundation is hosting its third annual Safety At Sunset Utah Awareness Dinner and Auction at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House on Friday, October 30. The evening is built around speakers and an auction, with the law firm Parker and McConkie serving as the title sponsor.
To get why this happens every year, you have to know who Lauren McCluskey was. She was a University of Utah student-athlete who was murdered in 2018. Her death led to the creation of the foundation, which works to empower students, athletes, and institutions to improve how they respond to victims of relationship violence on college campuses. The dinner is the foundation's main annual event for raising awareness and support for that mission.
The night's centerpiece is the Lauren McCluskey Award for Distinguished Response. This year, it goes to Nicole Noren, a six-time Emmy-winning investigative journalist. In 2023, she released LISTEN, a documentary about McCluskey that premiered on ESPN and has since been viewed by more than six million people on YouTube. Noren will be honored at the event for her work on the film.

So, on the night, you'll have speakers, an auction, and the presentation of the award to Noren. It's the third time the foundation has held this dinner in Utah, and it all comes back to the work they're doing for campus safety and relationship violence. The dinner is on Friday, October 30, at the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House in Salt Lake City.
