Free, all-ages celebration of voting with a DJ set, free food, art workshops, a community resource fair and a Low Sensory Zone.
Party at the Polls takes over Constitution Park on Friday, October 30, from 5 PM to 7 PM. It's a free, all-ages celebration of voting and community connection, put on by the ACLU of Utah and Ignite! Utah ahead of the General Election. The idea is to create a space for friends and neighbors to gather before heading to the polls, with art activations and a community resource fair running alongside the music and food.
WhoCriedWolf handles the DJ set, and the food is free: Red Iguana and Prime Corn are on it, with vegan and gluten-free options included. Culture Coffee is providing the drinks. For the art side, LUSH is hosting bath bomb making, and there are linocut and button-making workshops to work on. A community resource fair runs through the event, and there's a Low Sensory Zone for when things get a bit much.
It's meant as a neighborhood hangout before the voting begins, so you're encouraged to bring your ballot and drop it in the drop box while you're there. And if you get there early, the first 30 people through the gate walk away with a free ACLU trucker hat.
