Nightmare on 13th Haunted House

Nightmare on 13th is back for its 36th season at 300 W 1300 S in Salt Lake City, running from September 18 through Friday, November 13. It's Utah's longest-running indoor haunted attraction, and for good reason—it's a big one. This year, they've got three separate experiences under one roof, so you're getting a lot more than a single walk-through.

The first is the original Nightmare Haunted House, which takes about 25 to 40 minutes and features a Horror Cinema section for 2026. Then there's the Institute of Terror, which has been admitting 'patients' for over five years and plays out as an asylum during a thunderstorm—it's darker and more intense than the main house, and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes. The new addition this season is the 13th Manor, a sit-down live scare show that runs roughly 20 minutes and is hosted by Mr. Grimly, staged in a room dressed as an old haunted Southern manor. Between the three, you're looking at about an hour or more of scares.

If you're not in the mood for the full haunt, there's a Day Haunt—a daytime walk through the main house with no actors and trick-or-treating for kids. On the grounds, you'll also find the Buried Alive 4-D coffin ride and the Sinister Sips & Deadly Donuts concession stand. And if you're still hanging around, Escape on 13th, the haunt's sister escape room, stays open year-round on the same property.

Tickets are $14.95 plus a $0.99 service fee and tax. The haunt runs Monday through Thursday from 7 PM to 10 PM—though Thursday, October 29 goes until 11 PM—and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 PM to midnight. The final night, Friday, November 13, runs from 7 PM to 10 PM.
