Fixed-time endurance race with 3, 6 and 12-hour individual and relay options on Liberty Park's paved multi-use path, run by the Salt Lake City Track Club.
The Salt Lake City Track Club is hosting the Liberty Park Endurance Runs on Saturday, October 24, at Liberty Park (680 E 1040 S). It's a fixed-time race, which is a bit different from your usual timed run: you pick your event and run as many miles as you can before the clock runs out. The course is the paved multi-use path around the park's perimeter, with each lap coming in at around 1.4 miles. Because you're running laps on a flat, paved loop, it's a good spot to keep a steady pace and track your progress without worrying about technical terrain.
There are three distance options, each with an individual and a relay version. The 12-hour starts at 6 AM, the 6-hour at 12 PM, and the 3-hour at 3 PM. All of them finish at 6 PM, so the park fills up as the day goes on and everyone crosses the line around the same time. The fixed-time format lets you set your own goal—whether that's your first ultramarathon or a new personal best at the marathon, 50k, 50 miles, or 100k—while you're still running alongside everyone else. The top male and female in each event get a winner's award.

Behind the race is the Salt Lake City Track Club, a volunteer-run non-profit that supports the local running community with weekly social runs, donations, and racing. All proceeds from the event go toward the club's Making Strides program. On-course hydration is provided by Tailwind Nutrition, and the race is run cupless, so you'll need to bring your own cup or bottle. With the 12-hour starting at 6 AM and the 3-hour starting at 3 PM, there's a window for almost any level of runner to get out there.
