Family-friendly Halloween night at Hogle Zoo with light displays, interactive attractions and fall-themed treats across the grounds.
Hogle Halloween: A Boo Lights Experience is back at Hogle Zoo this October, the zoo's signature Halloween event that turns the grounds into a glowing autumn destination after hours. It's a family-friendly night, and the whole point is that it happens when the zoo is usually closed. As the animals settle in for the night and most habitats close or go dark so they can get a full night's rest, the grounds fill with larger-than-life light displays, interactive attractions, and glowing surprises. You're encouraged to come in costume, though full-face masks and weapons aren't allowed. If you're bringing kids or just need a hand getting around, the zoo lends wheelchairs and strollers to anyone who needs them.
There's more to it than just the lights. The night includes a special after-hours menu of fall-themed treats at The Beastro, Oasis Cafe, and Shoreline Grill, so you can grab some seasonal food while you walk. And if you're looking for something without the kids, there's a separate 21+ session called BrewLights. Between the light displays, the costumes, and the food, it's a full evening rather than just a quick walk-through.

Timing is the main thing to keep track of. The event runs from September 24 through October 18 on Thursdays through Sundays, and then every single night from October 22 through October 30. All sessions are from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, so you've got a three-hour window to see everything. Tickets are $24.95 for adults (ages 13 and up) and $19.95 for children (ages 3 to 12), and members save $2 on both, bringing them down to $17.95 and $22.95.
