Free professional-development evening for K-12 educators to explore scientific phenomena and art-making, with hands-on workshops and relicensure points.
Evening for Educators: Phenomena in Focus comes to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on Wednesday, February 24, 2027, from 4:30 PM to 8 PM. It's part of the Evenings for Educators series, a free professional-development program for elementary and secondary teachers across Utah. The session is open to K-12 educators, including science coaches, librarians, and secondary science faculty.
The evening is built around a keynote speaker, hands-on workshops, networking, and free educational materials. Each session in the series is unique in its location and theme: it moves between galleries and museums around the state, with the host site choosing a topic that ties into one of its current exhibitions. The goal is to give teachers practical ways to weave art into their core curriculum. This particular session, Phenomena in Focus, lets educators explore scientific phenomena and art-making right there in the museum.
