Weekly advanced-level modern and contemporary dance class by the Salt Lake City collective loveDANCEmore, with a sliding-scale donation.
Dance Class for Humans is running at the Westminster Performing Arts Center this fall, with classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 PM. It's a season that stretches from September 14 through December 10, though there's no class on November 26 or December 7. If you're just starting now, you've still got plenty of room to jump in.
The whole thing is built around a rotating teacher model, which is the best way to describe it: instead of one person leading every session, the floor changes hands. The season pulls from many schools of contemporary technique, balancing members of local major companies, independent artists, and international guests. It means you're not just sticking to one style—you get to see how different teachers approach the same room. Across the season, there are more than seventy classes in total.
Two names to keep on your radar are Ursula Perry, who leads on October 19, and Mo Solomon, who takes over on November 23. They're just two of the many teachers who cycle through the schedule, so if you can't make one, there's almost always another coming up.

Behind it all is loveDANCEmore, which has provided advanced-level modern and contemporary dance training on an accessible basis since 2023. This is their eleventh season, and it was recently featured in The Salt Lake Tribune. They run a strict 'no one turned away' policy, with a suggested donation of $5 to $15 and work-trade opportunities available. Classes are at Westminster University's Jewett Center for the Performing Arts, 1724 S 1300 E in Salt Lake City.
