21+ night of short, accessible talks on space and science followed by trivia and drinks at HK Brewing Co.
Astronomy on Tap comes to HK Brewing Taproom & Bar on Tuesday, October 27, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's a 21+ night of short, accessible talks on space and science, with the presentations starting at 7:15 PM. Local experts lead the talks, and the whole thing is followed by a round of trivia, so you can spend the first half listening and the second half testing what you just heard.
The Salt Lake City edition is part of a series HK Brewing Co puts on, pairing science with a casual bar setting. The talks are meant to be accessible, not academic, so you don't need a degree in astrophysics to follow along—just a general interest in what's happening above us. It's the kind of thing that works better with a drink in your hand than a notebook in front of you.
Since it's at the taproom, you've got drinks on tap throughout the night. If you're coming hungry, La Torta will be on-site serving food, so you can grab a meal and a beer and settle in for the talks. It's a 21+ event, and it's free and open to the public, so you can just show up and hang out without worrying about tickets or a cover.
