Free-flight demonstration of the Aviary's Ambassador Birds, including Roseate Spoonbills, American Crows, Turkey Vultures, Kea, Ravens and a Green-winged Macaw.
Tracy Aviary is running its Ambassador Bird Demonstration today, Thursday, October 22, as part of its daily programming in Liberty Park. It's a short one—about 15 minutes—and there are two times to choose from: 11 AM and 1:30 PM. The demonstration is free and included with general admission, so if you're already spending the day at the Aviary, it's an easy addition to the visit.
The stars here are the Ambassador Birds, the Aviary's free-flight flock. The whole point of the show is to see them in action, flying overhead while you watch. Beyond the free-flight group, the Aviary keeps a diverse roster of Ambassador Birds on hand: Roseate Spoonbills, American Crows, Turkey Vultures, Kea, Ravens, and a Green-winged Macaw. If you want more than the demonstration, there's a behind-the-scenes experience with them available for an additional fee.

If you're bringing kids, a couple of things to keep in mind: they need to be accompanied by an adult and able to stay seated for the duration of the demonstration. Since the location can shift, it's a good idea to check in with Guest Services when you arrive to find out exactly where today's show is happening. Between the two time slots, you can fit it in before lunch or after, and since it's included in admission, it's just one more thing to see while you're out in Liberty Park.
