The Pope House Museum, built in 1901, is a restored home once owned by Dr. Manassa Thomas Pope, a prominent African-American citizen of Raleigh. It is located in downtown Raleigh, mere blocks from the Capitol Building, and is the only African-American house museum in the state of North Carolina. The house features original furnishings and tells the story of Dr. Pope and his family.
