IMAX screening of the film Wildwood at the Marbles Kids Museum, with Conservation Convos post-show discussion.
Wildwood opens at Marbles IMAX on Thursday, October 22, and runs through Sunday, October 25. It's a PG-13 feature film, and the Raleigh screening fills the city's only Certified Giant Screen, which stands around three stories tall and runs state-of-the-art IMAX surround sound. If you've never seen a movie on a screen that big, this is a good one to start with.
The story follows Prue McKeel, a headstrong teenager whose baby brother is abducted by crows. She launches a desperate rescue mission into an enchanted forest hidden just beyond Portland, Oregon, joined by a hapless but loyal classmate. From there, she navigates a world of bandits, talking animals, and powerful figures driven by grief and ambition. It's a fantasy adventure that takes a small, personal stakes—a missing sibling—and expands it into a whole hidden world.
Marbles pairs the screening with Conservation Convos, a post-show conversation with the film's director and producer, so you can hear how it came together after the credits roll. If you're looking for a cheaper way to see it, the venue runs Discount Tuesdays, with $4 documentaries and half-priced features every Tuesday.
