A wellness event at NC State University featuring games, pumpkin painting, free plants, food, therapy dogs and giveaways for the campus community.
Wellness Fest takes over Harris Field on Tuesday, October 27, from 11 AM to 1 PM. It's an NC State University event, and it's open to everyone in the NC State community. The whole thing is built around activities rather than a formal program, so you can just drift through and do what catches your eye.
There's a fair amount to get into. You'll find games, pumpkin painting, and free plants to take home, along with free food and giveaways. There are therapy dogs on hand, too, which is usually the best part of these kinds of things. If you're looking for something low-key to do between classes or during a break, this fits the bill.
Beyond the activities, the fest is meant to help students get a better handle on the university's elements of wellness and figure out how the school can support their well-being. It runs as part of Red and White Week, National Transfer Student Week, and the university's Health and Wellness topic. The Student Alumni Association is organizing it alongside Campus Health, the Counseling Center, New Student Programs, Prevention Services, and Wellness and Recreation of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. They've also listed a contact for ADA accommodations if you need one.
