A weekly, non-competitive group bicycle ride covering ten to fifteen miles, starting and ending at Crank Arm Brewing in the Warehouse District.
Crank Arm Brewing hosts the Wednesday Night Ride on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. It's a weekly, non-competitive group ride run by Raleigh's local cycling community, and it starts and ends at the brewery in the Warehouse District downtown. The route covers ten to fifteen miles and takes about an hour, depending on the course, and the group rides no-drop, so no one gets left behind.
It's pitched as a casual, safety-first way to break up the school week, get some fresh air, and connect with other local cyclists in a relaxed, social setting. Because it's a group outing on city streets, there are a couple of requirements: state law requires functional front and rear bicycle lights, and riders are asked to bring a helmet. The ride is best suited for experienced cyclists and older teenagers.
The starting point, Crank Arm Brewing at 319 W Davie St, is known for its fresh artisan beer and for promoting green transportation. The venue also accepts the Downtown Raleigh Gift Card, which is handy if you're using it for your post-ride drinks. Joining the ride itself is free; you only pay for the food and drinks you order at the brewery afterward.
