Spooky movie screenings of Jennifer's Body and Lisa Frankenstein with cocktails and bites from Centro at the 21+ venue Bitter Social.
Bitter Social is turning into a spooky cinema every Thursday in October with Thriller Thursdays, a monthlong run of horror and cult screenings at 104 South Wilmington Street in downtown Raleigh. The setup is straightforward: a giant projector screen and surround sound, with cocktail specials running alongside the films and the option to order food from Centro restaurant right at the bar. The nights are 21+.
This Thursday, October 15, the double feature is Jennifer's Body and Lisa Frankenstein. It's a pairing of two female-led horror comedies that both lean into the campy, dark side of the genre—one a mid-2000s cult hit about a demon-possessed cheerleader, the other a more recent take on the reanimated monster trope. If you've seen one and not the other, it's a good excuse to catch up on both in one go.
That's just one night in a full October calendar. The series kicked off on October 1 with Backrooms, followed by a Twilight marathon on October 8 and 9. After this week, the screenings continue with Practical Magic and The Craft on October 22, and a Scream marathon to close things out on October 29. Whether you're in it for the double features or the marathons, there's a different lineup every week.

There's no cover to get in, so you can just show up and hang out. The cocktails and Centro food are optional, but they're there if you want something to snack on during the movies. The whole thing is 21+, so bring your ID.
