Room 861: Conor Janda

Conor Janda plays Goodnights Comedy Club on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 PM. He's a stand-up, writer, and actor whose work pulls from two different places: the neuroses of a New York transplant and the fiery spirit of a Philadelphia native.

His stand-up covers a wide range of ground. He talks about life as a stay-at-home dad, growing up in an all-boys Catholic school, and getting sober from alcohol. It's the kind of material that works because it's rooted in specific, personal territory rather than generalities. He's been recognized as a New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, and he's worked as a writer and actor on Gag, Comedy Central's queer digital channel.

When he isn't touring, Janda is the co-creator, writer, and star of the web series BOYS CLUB, which he made with Nico Carney. The series was originally developed with Imagine Entertainment and Scott King. Between the stand-up and the writing, he's built a career that moves across the stage and the screen, and this is a chance to catch him live in Raleigh.

The show is at Goodnights Comedy Club on Saturday, October 17, starting at 7:30 PM.
