A community day party with live DJ, food trucks, shopping, dancing and photo ops to celebrate breast cancer awareness.
Pinktober Festival takes over the Raleigh Outside Complex on Saturday, October 17, from 3 PM to 8 PM. It's an outdoor community afternoon that asks everyone to wear pink and celebrate for a cause, and the whole thing is built around a party atmosphere. You'll find food trucks and local vendors on site, a live DJ keeping things moving, dancing, desserts, giveaways, and photo ops. There's a Best Pink Fit Contest and a dance-off, too, so if you're going to lean into the pink theme, this is your chance to show it off.
For a good part of the afternoon, it's a high-energy street party. The DJ, the food trucks, and the dance-off keep the mood up, and the vendors give you something to browse between sets. The photo ops are there for when you've got your outfit together and want a shot to remember the day. It's the kind of afternoon where you can spend as much or as little time as you like, grabbing food and hanging out with friends while the music runs in the background.
There is a quieter moment, though. At one point, the crowd stops to recognize breast cancer survivors and fighters, and that's the core of why the day happens. It's the part that gives the party its purpose, and it's when the whole event shifts from a celebration to a moment of recognition for the people it's meant to honor.
