A family-friendly Halloween party with costumes, mad scientist experiments, and a dance party at Marbles Kids Museum.
Marbles Kids Museum is hosting Kooky Spooky, its family-friendly Halloween party, on Friday, October 23, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM. It's an annual tradition for Raleigh families, and the whole point is that it opens the museum after dark, so you get to explore the exhibits when they're usually closed. It's designed as a gentle introduction to the spooky season, which makes it a good fit if you've got younger kids who aren't quite ready for the full-blown haunted house experience.
Everyone is encouraged to show up in their "magical best," so costumes are a big part of the night. Once you're inside, you'll find themed activities scattered throughout the museum, including mad scientist experiments and a haunted hideaway. There's also a dance party, so the evening is as much about moving around as it is about the activities. It's a family-friendly setup, and children have to be accompanied by an adult over 18.

On the logistics side, the night is run as a cashless event, so leave the cash at home and bring a card. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are available to buy, with Coca-Cola on board as an in-kind sponsor. Tickets are $20 for members and $22 for the general public, and everyone who comes—adults and children alike—needs their own ticket to enter. You'll find the museum at 201 E. Hargett St. in downtown Raleigh.
