A Theatre for the Very Young production where performers use physical actions and props to tell a story, encouraging audience participation. Recommended for ages 0-5.
Knock Knock runs at Raleigh Little Theatre from November 18 through 29, 2026. It's a Theatre for the Very Young production, which means it's built for the smallest audience members in the room. The show follows a delivery person through an apartment building, where boxes turn into imaginative forts and the story unfolds across different floors. It's recommended for ages 0 to 5, and kids are encouraged to sit on the floor and move around during the performance.
There's a specific way this kind of theater works: the performers use a small set of key words that they repeat often, and they rely on physical actions and props rather than conventional conversation. The audience is invited to get involved with the action as it happens, so it's more of an experience to be part of than a play to sit still for. The whole thing runs about 30 minutes, which is just about the right length for a toddler's attention span.
It was created by Olivia Aston Bosworth and Samantha Provenzano, commissioned by Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, and originally developed and produced there as part of the Kathy and Ken Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young series. Sound is by Multiband Studios. The production plays in the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre at 301 Pogue St, Raleigh, NC 27607.
