Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds perform live on the Mutiny for the Masses 2026 Tour, featuring tracks from their album Mutiny After Midnight.
Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds play the Lenovo Center on Wednesday, October 21, as part of the Mutiny for the Masses 2026 Tour. It's a single-bill night, with the band as the only act on the program.
If the name doesn't ring a bell, it's because Johnny Blue Skies is Sturgill Simpson's alter ego. He started releasing music under the moniker in 2024 with Passage du Desir, after announcing that 2021's The Ballad of Dood and Juanita would be his last album under his own name. The group toured previously in 2025 on the Who the Fck is Johnny Blue Skies* outing, and this is the follow-up run.
The set will draw from Mutiny After Midnight, the album that debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard's Top Rock & Alternative, Top Rock, and Americana/Folk Albums charts. The band bills their live show as an intensely physical marathon, so expect a long, high-energy set rather than a short one. The record itself is out on vinyl, CD, and cassette through High Top Mountain/Atlantic Outpost, and as a digital download on iTunes in a full-album-only format with an expanded tracklist that includes their take on Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time."
