Industrial metal and shock rock band Genitorturers headline the Necromancy event at Chapel of Bones, with performances by Nathan James and DJ Dr Martin.
Genitorturers play Chapel of Bones on Friday, October 9, with Nathan James and DJ Dr Martin on the bill. The night is billed as an immersive celebration of the darker side of music and nightlife, and the lineup follows that through. Nathan James brings a dark blend of industrial, metal and alternative, and DJ Dr Martin plays goth, industrial, darkwave and underground club selections.
Genitorturers come from Tampa, Florida, and they describe themselves as agents provocateur of the underground hard rock and industrial metal scenes. Their live show blends industrial metal, punk, fetish culture and theatrical performance into a provocative, boundary-pushing experience. It's the kind of set that leans as much on the visual and the theatrical as it does on the music.
One of their better-known records is their fifth studio album, Blackheart Revolution, which came out on November 3, 2009. It was co-produced by David 'Evil D' Vincent of Morbid Angel and Scott Humphrey, who has worked with Motley Crue, Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne. Miles Copeland signed them to the I.R.S. label alongside acts like Gary Numan, The Go-Gos and R.E.M., and the lead single, 'Cum Junkie,' was released as a digital track and a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl.
