Dinner and a show with live jazz performances from the house band Garden Grooves and local and touring artists at the Botanical Lounge.
Garden Grooves starts up at the Botanical Lounge on Friday, October 16, and runs every Friday through December 25. It's the lounge's house band, and they'll be playing live jazz every weekend for the rest of the year.
The series is billed as dinner and a show, with intimate performances from local and touring artists. The house band handles the jazz, and the guest spots bring in the variety, so you get a mix of the two in one night. It's a long run—ten weeks of Friday nights in a row—which makes it easy to drop in when your schedule allows rather than having to clear a specific date.
If you haven't spent much time there, the Botanical Lounge is a rooftop cocktail lounge in the Glenwood South district, spread across three levels. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and they serve craft cocktails, beer, and wine alongside small plates. The lounge also does a Day Party Brunch, and you'll find DJs and dancing there too, so the jazz nights are a different side of the place.
