A family-friendly afternoon of recreation and community at Fred Fletcher Park, featuring classic field day games, interactive challenges and giant yard games for all ages.
Fletcher Field Day takes over the Fred Fletcher Park Amphitheater on Saturday, October 10, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's a family-friendly afternoon of recreation and community, built around the kind of field day games most of us remember from school. The whole thing is free, so it's an easy one to drop into with kids or a group of friends without worrying about tickets.
The day is set up as a series of interactive challenges and giant yard games spread across the park. You'll find classic field day staples like sack races, and for those who want something a bit more active, there's an inflatable obstacle course. There are also activity stations geared for all ages, so it works whether you're bringing small children or just want to get out and move around for a few hours.
One of the better parts is how it's structured: you earn prizes as you complete the challenges. It gives the whole afternoon a bit of a game-day feel, with something to work toward as you move from one station to the next. Between the sack races and the obstacle course, there's enough going on to keep different age groups occupied at the same time, and the prizes add a nice little incentive to keep playing.
