Certified Fresh is a charity comedy benefit coming to Artspace on Saturday, October 17, from 7 PM to 9 PM. The night brings together a lineup of stand-up comedians from the Oak City Comedy Festival, all performing for a charitable cause.
Because it's a benefit, the whole evening is built around giving back. The stand-up is the main draw, but there's a second part to the night: a live auction of a painting that was created live during one of the festival's shows. So you'll get the comedy sets and then a chance to bid on a piece of art that came out of the festival itself.
The venue adds its own layer to the mix. Artspace is one of Raleigh's creative spaces, and holding the show there puts the comedy inside a working art environment rather than a traditional club. It's a good fit for a night that combines stand-up with a painting auction.
