A candlelight concert tribute to Fleetwood Mac by Mallarme Music, featuring a string quartet in an intimate setting.
Mallarme Music brings a tribute to Fleetwood Mac to The Rialto on Saturday, November 14, as part of the Candlelight concert series. The performance is a string quartet taking on the band's catalog, and it's presented by Fever. It's not affiliated with Fleetwood Mac, their estate, or any official representatives.
The program runs through a good stretch of their best-known work. You'll hear Everywhere, Gypsy, You Make Loving Fun, Never Going Back Again, Don't Stop, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way, Landslide, Little Lies, Songbird, Rhiannon, and The Chain. That's twelve songs in an hour, so the set moves pretty quickly through the different eras of the band.
If you haven't been to one of these, the setup is the same as the Candlelight shows they do around the world: classical and popular music in an intimate venue lit by thousands of candles. They use LED candles to get the look without the fire risk. The Rialto is a 426-capacity room in Raleigh's Five Points neighborhood, built in 1936 as an A&P grocery store. It became The Colony Theatre in 1942 and is known now for independent films, live music, and community events.
