Beer and Banjos: Redbud

Redbud play Bowstring Pizza and Brewyard on Tuesday, October 13, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. They're coming in from Boone, and they're the headliners for the night.

Redbud is a group of young musicians who honor traditional bluegrass while blending in a fresh, modern style. They describe their sound as warm and inviting, reflecting both their respect for the genre's roots and their passion for innovation. It's a good way to put it: they keep the traditional bluegrass foundation but aren't afraid to push it forward.

The show is part of a free, family-friendly weekly roots-music series hosted by the Beer and Banjos All-Stars, a collective of local musicians who welcome guest artists to the stage. The series is presented by PineCone, the Piedmont Council of Traditional Music, which stages more than 200 music programs a year. That includes over 30 concerts, youth programs, participatory jams and sessions, a weekly radio show, and the annual IBMA Bluegrass Live! festival, produced with IBMA and the City of Raleigh.

Bowstring Pizza and Brewyard is at 1930 Wake Forest Rd. in Midtown Raleigh. The show is held on the patio when the weather permits, or inside by the bar when it doesn't. Admission is free, and tips are gratefully accepted. The music runs from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
